What is Walk & Talk Therapy?
Walk & Talk Therapy offers counselling outdoors, walking side by side rather than sitting together in a traditional indoor setting.
Sessions take place in a country park setting in Tonbridge, Kent.
What are the benefits of Walk & Talk Therapy?
Many people find that being outdoors in a natural environment helps them to feel more relaxed and at ease.
Walking side by side can make it feel easier to talk, especially if sitting face-to-face feels uncomfortable. The gentle rhythm of walking can support a more natural flow of conversation and allow thoughts and feelings to emerge more freely.
Being in open space can also bring a sense of perspective, helping you to reflect and process what you are going through.
How does Walk & Talk Therapy work?
You can choose the pace that feels right for you, whether that’s a gentle walk with pauses or a more steady pace. We will move at a speed that suits you.
Our first session will take place online. This gives us an opportunity to talk through how the sessions will work, including where we will meet, how time will be managed, and to explore any questions or concerns you may have.
Who might find this helpful?
Walk & Talk Therapy may be helpful if you are experiencing:
- stress or anxiety
- low mood
- relationship or family difficulties
- life changes or transitions
- a sense of feeling stuck or overwhelmed
The focus of our work together remains on the therapeutic relationship and the space it provides. The walking simply offers an alternative way of being together, which some people find more comfortable and supportive.
Sessions go ahead in most weather conditions, with flexibility where needed
If this approach feels like it might suit you, you are welcome to get in touch to find out more.
